Chadwell Heath: Location And History

Chadwell Heath is a suburban area of East London and straddles the London boroughs of Redbridge and Barking & Dagenham. It was once part of Essex until 1965.

Residential development of Chadwell Heath began to take off at the end of the 19th century with the arrival of the rail network.  As a result, there are plenty of Victorian properties in the area.  Chadwell Heath grew rapidly after the end of World War I, much of the residential property is from the inter-war period.

More recently, strong demand from homebuyers in Chadwell Heath has also prompted a swathe of house building in the area.
